The Donate Life Ambassador volunteer program offers donor family members, transplant recipients, and others touched by donation the opportunity to share their experiences and help inspire our community to make the decision to donate life.
As the heart and soul of Donate Life’s efforts to spread awareness, Ambassadors build an emotional connection with the public, motivating them to consider being a donor, to make the choice using the Donate Life Organ and Tissue Donor Registry, and to share their decision with family members. They can register online at www.DonateLifeTN.org and at the DMV when receiving or renewing their driver’s license. (*NOTE: Even if someone is already registered and has a heart on their license, they must remember to check yes to the organ donation question (# 7) each time they renew!)
We empower our Ambassadors to operate independently when volunteering on behalf of Donate Life in their communities. With this responsibility comes the necessity to be familiar with the educational tools and materials provided by the organization.
Donate Life Ambassadors enhance the variety of events and activities we host by sharing their personal experiences. While each audience consists of a diverse group of people, each event is meaningful, rewarding, and fun!
Some of the opportunities include:
- Health and Wellness Fair booths
- Administrative activities
- Multi-cultural events
- Speaking engagements
- DMV programs
- Show us your Heart campaign
- National Donor Sabbath weekend
- Donate Life Month awareness
The “Gift of Life” is of the greatest gifts one can give or receive. We hope you will join us, and in doing so, help us to spread the word of this wonderful lifesaving opportunity.
